Julius Oldehaver donation bike tour with G.2 ST seat post

When a thirst for adventure meets commitment, something very special is created – just like Julius Oldehaver from Hamburg. The passionate bike traveler has already undertaken four impressive tours across Europe in recent years. But in summer 2025, he is embarking on a completely new journey: Under the motto “Around the world by bike”, Julius will start in Hamburg – with West Africa as his destination.

But before he set off, Julius was a guest at Cyclingworld in Düsseldorf, where he took delivery of his new touring bike from Böttcher – and also stopped by our stand to pick up his by,schulz G.2 ST – Parallelogram Suspension Seatpost There he met our Managing Director Robert Koch and our employee Claudius Kleinsorgen, with whom he discussed the upcoming tour, technology and visions.

A few facts about the trip

Why?

“Because I love cycling! Because I believe in the good in people. And because nature gives me strength,” writes Julius on his blog. He wants to leave a positive footprint with his life – and inspire others to become active themselves.

When?

Start: Summer 2025 – stage finish: West Africa by Christmas 2025, after which the journey continues openly and without time limit.

Experience?

Already cycled over 12,000 km and raised €15,000 in donations – on four major tours through Europe.

The route - stage 1:

At least 8 countries, approx. 10,000 kilometers, 30,000 meters of altitude, mountains, a strait and: crossing the Sahara.

Collecting donations for nature conservation

This journey is not only a sporting challenge, but also a project close to his heart: Julius is collecting donations for nature conservation on his tour. Together with NABU, he is following the storks’ migration route – a fascinating journey that he is tracing on his bike. He regularly reports on his experiences on his blog and social media to raise awareness of stork conservation.

Julius’ motivation is clear: “Because I love cycling! Because I believe in the good in people. And because nature gives me strength.” His goal: to leave a positive footprint with his own life – and inspire others to become active themselves.

Tour start

The starting shot will be fired in summer 2025, the first stage will take him over around 10,000 kilometers, through at least eight countries, over 30,000 meters of altitude, through mountains, across a strait – and even across the Sahara. And all of this by Christmas – after that, it’s onwards, with no time limit.

Julius has a wealth of experience: He has covered over 12,000 km on previous tours and has already raised 15,000 euros in donations. This world tour builds on this – with the power of nature, a lot of passion and a clear message.

by,schulz supports Julius with a G.2 Seatpost

So that he can concentrate fully on the essentials – cycling and collecting donations – Julius was equipped with a suitable touring bike by the Böttcher company. We at by,schulz provide the necessary comfort: the G.2 ST seatpost with our proven parallelogram spring mechanism provides effective damping on long, uneven routes and helps to prevent fatigue. Ideal for the extreme tour of Julius with changing terrain.

We are delighted to be able to support Julius on this inspiring journey – for stork protection, for a good cause and for a message that carries further than any kilometer
